About us

Makalani Productions is a relatively new company, which was established by Torsten & Yana.

Torsten is the working brain behind the company. He is responsible for all the business deals, decisions, research, new equipment, new projects and innovations. He encourages Makalani Productions and offers us plenty of interesting new projects- from local surf video's, to fishing tours and much more. Torsten, also having a great passion & knowledge for media, music and gadgets, prefers to be in the water surfing, fishing or sailing! He enjoys flying Safari Fly-in’s and the adrenaline of going out with his Kingcat 2260 Ski Boat fishing.

Yana always having a passion for media- photography, filming, sound, editing- is the media junky. After studying Sound Engineering (major in Location & Post Production) in Cape Town for 3 years, she decided to continue her studies in Post Production. Yana completed her filming and video editing course and began freelancing back in Namibia. She soon became involved in one of Namibia’s greatest Film Production Company ‘Media Logistics Namibia’ . Here Yana worked not only as a full time Production Coordinator, but also as an on-set Sound Recordists, Casting Assistant, Casting Camera Operator, On-set VTO, still photographer and freelance editor.
